Children and adults with learning difficulties are most welcome on board HMS Belfast and the ship's education service will adapt any talks or activity sessions to suite their needs. All educational activities have a 'hands-on' focus, so are accessible to all ages and abilities.
Physical access around the ship can be limited for those unable to negotiate steep ladders between decks; however, the first two decks of the ship are accessible to those in wheelchairs and every effort will be made to assist the physically disabled and ensure they gain as much as possible from an educational visit.
The education staff will be happy to discuss with you any specific requirements your group may have.
HMS Belfast has a special arrangement with The Variety Club, offering free admission for all children and group leaders - speak to the education staff for more information.
Outreach to Hospital Schools - HMS Belfast's Education service regularly visits Guy's Evelina Hospital School in London to deliver 'hands-on' teaching sessions. If you would like to suggest a hospital school, or similar institution within the London area for us to visit, please e-mail us.
