HMS
Belfast's Education Service is not limited to schools. All learners from cubs and cadets, to holiday activity clubs and adult/senior citizen societies, are welcome to book a visit to the ship. Groups can also pre-book to arrange free education sessions and benefit from discounted admission rates.
Due to the layout of the ship we do not, however, offer guided tours. Self guided tours following a route are recommended. Children in youth groups must be supervised at all times.
Education Sessions
All groups can book an illustrated talk or handling session about the history of the ship to accompany their visit. These can be tailored for any age or ability but are subject to availability - the Education staff's time does book up early, so please pre-book as soon as you can to secure a slot for your talk any day of the week.
Our sessions are fun, free and hands-on, ranging from trying out uniforms and a hammock and listening to veterans interviews for younger learners and to watching historical videos and studying naval artefacts for adult groups.
Please note that special workshops, talks and activity sheets can be prepared for groups with a particular focus for their visit.
